Tom Cruise closed out the 2024 Paris Olympics on Sunday night with a Mission Impossible-style stunt and took the official flag away to Los Angeles – which will host the summer games in 2028.

To conclude the more than two-hour closing ceremony, the actor was tapped for a drop to the stage from the rim of the Stade de France.

The 62-year-old action star made his way down to Olympics athletes and organizers – apparently showing the French his commitment to performing his own stunts.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was handed the flag for transportation to California.

Cruise eventually took the flag and left with it on a motorcycle.

Cruise posted a selfie of himself above the event and thanked Parisians for their hospitality.

Deadline reported of the moment:

“America, let’s go!” bellowed NBC’s Mike Tirico as the leather jacket wearing Cruise landed among the Olympic athletes. “That’s how you do it!” said Jimmy Fallon. Taking the flag from Mayor Bass and G.O.A.T. [Simone Biles], Cruise jumped on a nearby motorbike and cruised out of the stadium. It was then to a pre-recorded video of Cruise leaping out of a plane with a Red Hot Chili Peppers soundtrack to deliver the flag to LA.
