Kevin Durant Celebrates Thrilling Team USA Win Vs. Serbia By… Firing Back at Social Media Trolls at 5 A.M.

After helping Team USA narrowly avoid an upset to Serbia in the Olympic semifinals, Kevin Durant was seen arguing on social media early Friday morning.
The U.S. men’s team beat Serbia — led by two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic — 95-91 to advance to the gold medal game against France. Roughly 12 hours later, around 5 a.m. local time, Durant responded to a tweet praising Serbia for its effort against the United States. In his own tweet, Durant asked, “Where [you] from?”
Where u from??

Several other people joined the thread, with one accusing American fans of the Denver Nuggets — where Jokic plays — of rooting against Team USA to root for their favorite player instead. Another fan argued that people are simply upset with “the fact that Jokic is clearly the best player in the world.”
Cheering against Team USA? You mean, like all of those Americans who were making fun of Noah Lyles not winning gold in his latest race? Good ol’ double standards.
Just admit you hate the fact that Jokic is clearly the best player in the world.

That’s when Durant sent a harsh message to Nuggets fans.
“To all you nuggets fans, nobody gives a fuck who y’all lames believe is the best player in the league,” Durant responded. “Players got major respect for [Jokic], we don’t worship him like y’all do but most are in awe of his brilliance. Trolling you cornballs for rooting against us is apart of the game. Deal [with] it.”

In another tweet, Durant addressed the current state of NBA “fan culture” and its impact on NBA discussions.
“Let’s talk about the fan culture that’s been created recently,” he said. “A lot of huge egos who believe they are the reason for the advancement of a sport. A LOT of idol worship, a lot of hate and division based off wins and losses, a lot of disrespect of the work being put in by these incredible athletes, mostly by people who don’t know what it takes to be good at anything besides talking… Go do something and get out the way..”

When a fan argued that this “fan culture” has always existed within the sport, Durant claimed social media has made it worse.
“That’s what y’all do, y’all clowns,” Durant said. “Use players to push these corny agendas y’all got. This a brotherhood fam, [you] not a part of. It’s a problem now [because] social media got [you] clowns walkin around [with] your chest out like [you] mean something. YOU DON’T!!! YOUR TAKES DON’T MATTER.”
