ESPN’s Paul Finebaum went off on Colorado football Deion Sanders in response to the news he banned a reporter from press conferences.
On Friday, the university announced in a state that Sanders would no longer take questions from Denver Post reporter Sean Keeler. In the statement, which was sent to USA Today Sports, the university said the decision was made based on “a series of sustained, personal attacks on the football program and specifically Coach Prime.” While the team will not take questions from him at football-related events, he may still attend those events and remains a credentialed member of the media. Other Denver Post reporters may ask questions during pressers.
On Tuesday’s episode of Get Up, Finebaum called the move “disgraceful.”
“Coach Prime is showing he is not ready for primetime, Greeny” Finebaum said to host Mike Greenberg. “I find this whole thing to be disgraceful. Deion may wanna talk about love and joy — and that’s been the cornerstone of what he seems to be spewing out — but treating reporters like this seems like we’re in some autocratic country. This is not America, and the fact that it’s in his contract is really even more absurd.
“Don’t forget, he did this at Jackson State. This is a trait of Deion Sanders. He wants to have it his way, and I find him to be a bully
