Jon Stewart thought Elon Musk’s interview with Donald Trump was so bad that it only proved the former president is “becoming” President Joe Biden in this race.

On The Weekly Show, Stewart offered a review of the chat on X, formerly Twitter, comparing it to listening to two old men tell each how “hot” they are.

“Holy shit, was that just like two old dudes in a basement talking about how hot each other is. Wow!” he said.

The comedian added that he did not expect to be bored by the conversation, but ended up “fucking bored” anyway. Stewart also dismissed conspiracy theories on social media chalking up various technical glitches to the “Deep State.”

“This is not the Deep State trying to restrict free speech. This is just sometimes when you fire 80% of your engineers, shit goes haywire,” he said.

Stewart also accused Trump of being more “rambly” than ever in the interview, saying it was difficult to follow him. Trump acknowledged later that his sounded “somewhat different and strange” on the call.

“He’s always been a bit rambly, but holy fuck,” he said.

Several conservatives offered similar criticism. Megyn Kelly declared she was “bored” by the Trump and Musk conversation and chalked it up to the former president’s age.

Stewart took this argument further, saying with Biden and concerns about his age and stamina now in the rearview mirror, Trump is “becoming Biden” and his age is now becoming a point of focus.

“I think he is before our eyes becoming Biden in this race,” he said. “The whole idea was that performance by Biden in the debate was so shocking to the system of functionality where you watched a guy and you go, oh shit, this is a real decline in a way that we had not anticipated, but it obscured what is clearly going on with Trump as well.”
