Trump Tells Philly Talk Radio His Son Barron Advises Him on Politics: ‘Dad, This Is What You Have To Do’

Former President Donald Trump is publicly talking more about his youngest son, Barron, now that his child with former First Lady Melania Trump has turned 18 and will be representing Florida as a delegate at the upcoming Republican National Convention.

Barron was just 10 years old when his famous father won the presidency in 2016, and the youngest Trump has been mostly kept out of the national spotlight until now.

Trump called in to Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT Friday, where he told the Kayal and Company hosts that Barron is keenly interested in politics:

He’s a smart one…he’s a great guy.

He’s a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he’s a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy. And he’s really been a great student. And he does like politics. It’s sort of funny. He’ll tell me sometimes, “Dad, this is what you have to do.”

So, anyway, he’s a good guy. He’s a senior now in high school, and he’ll be going to college. And you know, a lot of, a lot of these choices of colleges are changing because you see what’s going on in the last month.

The judge in the former president’s hush money trial granted Trump the day off from court to attend Barron’s high school graduation on May 17.

As for college, Barron is said to be favoring New York University, but nothing has been confirmed by the Trump camp.

On Thursday, both Politico and ABC News reported that Barron will join his older siblings Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany (Trump) Boulos as delegates to the RNC, which runs from July 15-18. Also on the list was Trump Jr’s fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle and Tiffany’s husband Michael Boulos. Ivanka Trump has not been listed as a delegate.

An unnamed Trump campaign official told ABC News that Barron had become “very interested in our nation’s political process” since turning 18 in March.
