Ingraham Lashes Out At CNN Over ‘Nasty Jabs’ About Melania Not Being At Trump Trial
Fox News’ Laura Ingraham lashed out at CNN Friday for observing that Donald Trump’s family members have been absent from his Manhattan hush money trial for the first four days of the proceedings.
Ingraham insinuated that the “nasty jabs” she felt CNN aimed at Trump meant the media was getting nervous that the trial was going in Trump’s favor.
“The lawfare being waged against Trump seems to be totally backfiring,” Ingraham said. “And, so, disappointed commentators who kind of bet the farm on this, are just left sputtering. Even, and this was really great this morning, offering nasty jabs after Trump’s sweet birthday greetings to Melania.”
Ingraham then rolled tape of CNN’s Berman observing that Melania didn’t attend the trial Friday:
One thing I want to point out, the first thing he did was wish his wife, Melania, a happy birthday, and said he wished he could be with her. She could be there. Any number of his family members could be there at this trial at any point. They’ve all chosen not to be at this trial.
Ingraham then took a minute to mock Berman.
“‘They’ve chosen not to be.’ Really, John? Really?” Ingraham exclaimed. “That’s, that’s as good as you could do? It’s bad enough for Trump to waste his time in a sham proceeding, why on earth would he want to punish his family, punish his wife on her birthday? ‘Oh, come sit at the trial. Happy birthday.’ How ridiculous.”
Earlier, Ingraham said it was “particularly delicious” to see CNN host Anderson Cooper “uncomfortable” when “one of his guests “spoke the truth about the case.”
The guest, attorney Adam Kauffman, said, Trump’s legal team is “taking the wind out of the prosecution’s sails and showing there was this relationship that had nothing to do with sort of a quid pro quo.”
Anderson Cooper then said, “Beauvais is asking Pecker to confirm that the concept of ‘catch and kill’ was not talked about at the August 2015 meeting at Trump Tower. ‘That’s correct,’ Pecker said.”
