Donald Trump’s campaign is bringing back one of the former president’s top allies as Kamala Harris continues to gain the upper hand in polling.

Corey Lewandowski will be brought back to the campaign to advise Trump and senior leadership within the campaign, according to a report from Politico. Several other former Trump aides are also joining the campaign to help out with the effort to bolster Trump.

Since announcing her candidacy following President Joe Biden’s departure, Harris has closed the gap and expanded her lead over Trump in multiple key battleground states.

Lewandowski has remained an informal adviser to Trump since serving as his original campaign manager in 2016.

Politico notes that other former Trump campaign officials from prior elections will also be joining the 2024 effort, including Tim Murtaugh, who served as the communications director for Trump in 2020. Moreover, Alex Pfeiffer and Alex Bruesewitz, who previously worked for the MAGA Inc. super PAC.

Taylor Budowich also left the super PAC to reportedly join the Trump campaign at a senior role.

“As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team,” said Trump’s co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita in a joint statement to Politico.

The statement added, “Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh are all veterans of prior Trump campaigns and their unmatched experience will help President Trump prosecute the case against Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical ticket in American history.”

Back in 2021, Lewandowski stepped down from a pro-Trump super PAC after he was accused by a top donor’s wife, Trashelle Odom, of making unwanted sexual advances. After being charged with a misdemeanor, Lewandowski made an agreement with prosecutors to have the charges dropped in exchange for community service, paying a fine, and completing counseling.
