CNN Panelist Ridicules MSNBC Hosts Mocking Border Concerns: ‘Massive In Kind Contribution to Trump’s Campaign’
Former GOP strategist Doug Heye ridiculed MSNBC hosts and their Super Tuesday coverage during a CNN panel discussion on issues like immigration and their influence over November’s presidential election.
While discussing New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) ordering the National Guard to help deal with crime in New York’s subway system, Heye turned his attention to a Super Tuesday MSNBC panel that included Rachel Maddow, Jen Psaki, Joy Reid, Nicolle Wallace, and Alex Wagner.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) has said repeatedly city resources are stretched thin as they continue dealing with thousands of migrants bused in from Texas.
On the MSNBC panel, Heye referenced, Reid accused Republicans of wanting to “drive all the Blacks out of the colleges” with their opposition to DEI, and she accused them of voting on “racial animus” over their border concerns. Psaki and Maddow eventually laughed at the border being a motivating factor for voters.
“I mean, if you look at some of these exit polls, I mean, I live in Virginia. Immigration was the number one issue, of course,” Psaki said.
“Virginia does have a border with West Virginia. They’re very contested there,” Maddow said, eliciting laughter from the panel.
On Thursday, Heye argued such dismissive attitudes would guarantee four more years for Trump.
Heye said:
I think in Washington they don’t get it. Outside of Washington, Democrats get it more and more. I was watching MSNBC for a little bit on Super Tuesday and there was a panel of hosts and they were all sort of laughing. ‘Well, Virginia’s a border state with West Virginia, so of course they’d be worried about the border. Hahaha.’ Eric Adams gets it. Kathy Hochul’s starting to get it, and if Washington — if the liberal intelligentsia that informs Washington [and] this White laughs it off or thinks they can laugh it off, they’re in for four more years of Donald Trump.
CNN This Morning host Kasie Hunt then held up a New York Post newspaper with a story on the laughing MSNBC hosts splashed across their front page.
“That is a massive in-kind contribution to Donald Trump’s campaign,” Heye said.
