‘Kind of Weird’: Fox’s Cavuto Confronts RFK Jr. Over Central Park Bear Story And Purpose of His Campaign
Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto confronted Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over his latest scandal, in which he admitted to dropping off a dead bear in Central Park many years ago.
Last week, Kennedy released a video telling the tale of how he ended up putting a dead bear in New York City’s Central Park nearly a decade ago after finding the deceased animal on the road. Kennedy reportedly left the bear in the park because he did not have time to drive home due to a plane he needed to catch.
Cavuto noted during his Friday interview with the third-party candidate that the recent episode may further dissuade some voters from supporting him because it is “kind of weird.”
CAVUTO: We have this bear story where I understand that you you took a bear and you brought it to Central Park. I still don’t understand the thing. It just to a lot of normal people. Robert. It strikes them as kind of weird. And I’m just wondering, how is that going to help you?
KENNEDY: Do I think the bear story helps me? No, I don’t think the bear story helps me. I think that’s the kind of story that the media wants to focus on. Issues that have been helping me in this campaign and the media coverage. I mean, the issues that I want to talk about is why our kids can’t afford houses. Why we have worse than inflation now that we’ve had during my lifetime? The addiction that we have to war. The fact that 60% of kids in this country have chronic diseases, and the polarization and divisions in this country that are tearing our country apart. And those are the issues that I — and this corrupt merger of state and corporate power — that I’ve spent a lifetime fighting against. And those are the issues that I would prefer to talk about rather than, you know, my colorful personal life. But of course, the media does not want to talk about those issues.
