MSNBC’s Chris Hayes Says Biden Is ‘Increasingly Likely to Lose Reelection’ to Trump
MSNBC host Chris Hayes warned on Wednesday that President Joe Biden was “increasingly likely to lose reelection” to former President Donald Trump.
Reacting to Hollywood star George Clooney’s New York Times op-ed, which called for Biden to step down and be replaced as the Democratic nominee for president, Hayes said:
Joe Biden is a decent man who, like I said, has done nothing wrong. He hasn’t been caught in a scandal, he is just aging, and that reality makes him, I think, increasingly likely to lose reelection to a Republican candidate who, again, is just a few years younger – we’re gonna be in the same boat a few years from now if we elect him – and who has done a lot wrong, a shocking amount wrong, and has promised to do more wrong if he wins.
The MSNBC host protested:
And again, there is no conversation about whether he [Trump] should drop out because that candidate’s party is too afraid to ask him to step aside or do anything against him because any suggestion from any Republican that Donald Trump should step aside for the good of the party or the country or face accountability for his many crimes and sins is met with rabid rhetorical attacks, excommunication, and often death threats.
Hayes joins a growing list of media figures, Democrats, and donors who have warned about Biden’s prospects against Trump since his disastrous performance in last month’s CNN presidential debate and the publication of several reports on his alleged “cognitive decline.”
