Dr. Phil Rails Against Justice Department ‘Weaponization’ Ahead of Trump Sit-Down: ‘Save the Soul and Sanity of Our Country’

Dr. Phil McGraw railed against the “weaponization” of the FBI and Department of Justice ahead of an interview this week with Donald Trump.
McGraw referred to the former president’s conviction on more than 30 felony counts in his hush money trial as a “judicial travesty” and warned against retaliation by Republicans, calling for people to come together to “save the soul and sanity of this country.”
“This weaponization of our great institutions — the FBI, Justice Department, and individual state similar institutions — will lead to one of two outcomes. One is more of the same from the other side, tit for tat. That may seem deserved, but it is not the right way forward for America,” he said. “The other is what I call on you to demand from your politicians today: an end to this craziness in order to save the soul and sanity of this country.”
McGraw, who will interview Trump on his Merit Street talk show on Thursday evening, questioned whether the Trump conviction is the first step on a road to the sort of mysterious deaths of political opponents that are commonplace in authoritarian countries.
“What are we going to do next, have a [Vladimir] Putin poisoning posse and start finding political opponents foaming at the mouth at home, not so mysteriously dying in their La-Z-Boy recliners?” he asked.
The talk show host warned Democrats to be cautious of their “hatred” for Trump and Republicans to not let their “disgust” of President Joe Biden cloud their thinking.
“This is so not just about Donald Trump. If your let your hatred for Donald Trump compromise your ability to find true North on your moral compass, shame on you,” he said. “If you let your disgust for Biden make you blind to the inevitable consequences of pursuing revenge then God help the children who will inherit the dystopian nightmare we create.”
