Bill O’Reilly Says Republicans Haven’t Proven Biden Broke the Law: ‘It Gets to Be a Parody After Awhile’
Republicans have not proven their allegations of corruption against President Joe Biden, Bill O’Reilly argued on Monday on NewsNation, saying it’s gotten be a “parody.”
O’Reilly joined Leland Vittert to discuss investigations into the Biden family. Vittert asked if Republicans would be better off focusing on issues like inflation and crime rather than trying to prove corruption crimes allegedly committed by the president.
“They can do both, Leland, at once, the walk, chew gum thing, but it gets to be a parody after awhile,” O’Reilly said.
House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) has spearheaded investigations into Biden, claiming that Biden was directly involved in business transactions involving his son and brother while he held office. The president has denied such allegations. In a Sunday interview on Fox News, Comer claimed Biden has committed “many crimes” and vowed that his committee will hold him accountable for these alleged crimes.
“When I see Comer go on Maria Bartiromo and say, ‘well, it’s not secret Joe Biden’s committed a lot of crimes,’ I say, ‘show me.’ And Comer can’t,” O’Reilly said.
Bartiromo pushed Comer multiple times during their latest discussion on when actual “criminal referrals” can be expected for some of the massive crimes being alleged against the president, a timeline which Comer could not give. His committee previously made criminal referrals to the Department of Justice for Hunter Biden and James Biden for allegedly making false statements to Congress.
The only way to prove Biden actually broke the law would be to have undeniable proof showing he personally benefitted from services he performed for family members, O’Reilly argued. Otherwise, he added, the discussion is merely centered on ethics, a long-held grey line in Washington, D.C.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt about this. [Biden] sold the vice presidency to benefit his son and brother. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that at all, but as you pointed out, that’s not illegal. It’s unethical, but it’s not illegal unless he derived personal benefit from it,” he said, adding, “all of these guys, with very rare exceptions, use their jobs to amass a fortune.”
