Chargers Take Aim at Aaron Rodgers, Taylor Swift and Chiefs Kicker in Bizarre Sims-Themed Schedule Reveal Video

The Los Angeles Chargers revealed their 2024-25 schedule in a video chock-full of references some of the more unorthodox storylines in the league.

Wednesday was schedule release day in the NFL, and teams across the league came up with a multitude of creative ways to let their fans know who they’ll be playing in the upcoming season. For their schedule, the Chargers made a video based entirely on the video game series The Sims.

For the Chargers’ Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, two Sims characters resembling tight end Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce were shown. The scene was meant to depict the brothers doing their podcast New Heights — referenced by the title “Novel Elevations” in the corner of the screen. While they did the podcast, Taylor Swift suddenly appeared outside Travis’ window. Travis immediately got up to join her. The couple then got in Swift’s private jet, which was parked in the middle of the street.

What got the most attention online, however, was the end credit sequence showing some other clips the social media team made. That included a scene depicting Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker cooking in the kitchen. It may seem random to some, but the scene is a reference to his recent graduation speech at Benedictine College. In addition to bashing President Joe Biden, Butker told female graduates that they were most excited about their “vocation” as wives and mothers.

Also included in the credits was a scene with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. During the clip, a UFO suddenly appeared above Rodgers. A green baby then exited the UFO and hovered around Rodgers before landing in his arms. In the background was a cell tower — likely another reference to his conspiratorial beliefs.

This article has been updated to correct the reference to Benedictine University (located in Illinois) and change it to Benedictine College (located in Kentucky), where Butker’s graduation speech actually took place.
