Megyn Kelly Reverses Course, No Longer Believes Trump Had Affair with Stormy Daniels: ‘It Could Have Been a Setup’
Megyn Kelly declared on Monday that she no longer believes former President Donald Trump had an affair with porn star Stormy Daniels, just one month after she said the two had an “interlude.”
During a discussion on The Megyn Kelly Show about Trump’s ongoing hush money trial, Kelly said, “I came into this trial completely believing that Trump had had a one night stand with Stormy and an affair with Karen McDougal.”
She continued:
“I still believe he had an affair with Karen McDougal, that one got a little bit more detailed from the testimony… But I no longer believe the Stormy Daniels story. I at least have very serious doubts about it. I would not find beyond a reasonable doubt – not that they have to – but I would not find beyond a reasonable doubt that they had an affair. She came across as so not credible.
Kelly concluded, “I now believe it could have been a setup. She met him at the Tahoe thing, maybe she went to his hotel room, maybe she didn’t, but I can’t believe a word out of that woman’s mouth.”
Just one month ago, during an interview with NewsNation host and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams, Kelly said she believed there was an “interlude” between Trump and Daniels in 2006.
After Abrams asked, “You don’t actually believe Trump didn’t have an affair with Stormy Daniels as he says, right?” Kelly replied, “No, I believe there was an interlude. I don’t know, ‘affair’ may be too strong.”
She continued, “I think the jury’s going to believe that he paid off a porn star before the election to make her go away and that he didn’t write down in his books, ‘Hush money to Stormy Daniels,’ because no one in the history of hush money payments has ever written that in any book anywhere. It defeats the whole purpose of a hush money payment.”
