Vice President Kamala Harris had the sympathy of Megyn Kelly during a recent interview with Drew Barrymore where the actress emotionally crowned Harris the country’s “Momala.”

Clips of an emotional Barrymore sitting close to Harris and praising her drew swift mockery from critics on social media. SiriusXM’s Kelly said she mostly felt bad for the vice president in an episode of The Megyn Kelly Show where she was joined by Second Class author Batya Ungar-Sargon.

“I felt for Kamala Harris, I did. I felt bad for her. You could tell she had embarrassment. I had secondhand embarrassment. You could tell it was too awkward of an invasion of her personal space, but this was Drew’s attempt to show, ‘I’m Oprah!'” Kelly said.

She dug in further on Barrymore and her talk show talent by declaring she’s no Oprah Winfrey, a host Kelly said “didn’t have to force a fake, feigned intimacy.”

“I just threw up a little in my mouth,” she said after watching a clip of Barrymore introducing Harris on her show.

Kelly did take a show at Harris, saying she can’t be “Momala” of the country because “nothing warm and fuzzy and comforting about Kamala Harris.”

Kelly also took issue with Barrymore choosing to mention that Harris is the “first Black, first South-Asian, and, yes, first female vice president” in her introduction.

“Can you imagine how embarrassed you’d be if your introduction included something about your color, like your race? What the fuck are you bringing up her skin color for? You’re so fucking weird!” Kelly said.

During their interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Barrymore told Harris the world needs a “tremendous hug” and a “protector” right now.

“I keep thinking in my head that we all need a mom. I’ve been thinking that we really all need a tremendous hug in the world right now,” she said. “But in our country, we need you to be Momala of the country.”
