Megyn Kelly is a big fan of Democratic strategist James Carville’s recent blunt assessment of his own party’s “preachy women.”

On her SiriusXM show on Tuesday, Kelly, joined by Federalist culture editor Emily Jashinsky and Washington Free Beacon editor in chief Eliana Johnson, praised Carville criticizing his own party for allowing “preachy women” to control too much of the messaging.

In a Maureen Dowd New York Times column, Carville was blunt, as he has been in the past, with his thoughts about President Joe Biden’s polling and said males may be ditching the Democratic Party for a specific reason.

“A suspicion of mine is that there are too many preachy females dominating the culture of the Democratic Party. ‘Don’t drink beer. Don’t watch football. Don’t eat hamburgers. This is not good for you.’ The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas,'” Carville said.

He continued, “If you listen to Democratic elites — NPR is my go-to place for that — the whole talk is about how women, and women of color, are going to decide this election. I’m like: ‘Well, 48 percent of the people that vote are males. Do you mind if they have some consideration?'”

“This all makes perfect sense to me,” Kelly said after reading Carville’s assessment. “Some on the left think this is somehow sexist or clueless. I think he’s raising a very good point because I feel like all three of us have been lectured by those preachy ladies at one point or another and he’s not wrong, Emily, about how ubiquitous they are and how dominant they are in messaging on the left.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was one Democrat who pushed back on Carville’s take, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “Maybe he should start a podcast about it. I hear men are really underrepresented in that space.”

Jashinsky praised Carville for being one of the only Democrats discussing a culture issue in the party.

“Basically, no other professional Democrats are thinking about these things and what they’ve done instead is blame shift among Hispanic voters on disinformation,” she said.

Kelly described the modern Democratic Party as “very punitive,” citing energy policies, but also arguing some are too preachy on social media.

“I think this one goes beyond just the Squad or leftist politicians,” she said. “You know, if you spend a day on social media, whether it’s TikTok or Instagram or X, you’re gonna see dozens of this kind of person, these women lecturing you about how you suck if you don’t share their politics.”
