Two more football players from the University of Georgia were arrested for reckless driving this week, bringing the team’s total arrests to four this offseason.

Offensive tackle Bo Hughley was arrested Tuesday night by University of Georgia Police on charges of reckless driving and failure to maintain lane/improper driving on road, 247Sports reported Thursday. He was booked at 8:37 p.m. before being released at 10:08 p.m.

The very next night, Georgie inside linebacker Smael Mondon was arrested and charged with reckless driving and racing on highways/streets. Like Hughley, he was booked then released in about an hour and a half.

These arrests have become a concerning trend for the Bulldogs. In March, running back Trevor Etienne was arrested on a litany of charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving. Two months later in May, wide receiver Sacovie White was arrested and charged with reckless driving.

Making the arrests even more baffling is the fact that they come a year after reckless driving got a teammate and staffer killed in January 2023. Just hours after the Bulldogs’ national championship parade, several members of the program were involved in a race. One of the cars lost control, killing player Devin Willock and team staffer Chandler LeCroy. Defensive lineman Jalen Carter, who would later be drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, was arrested and later sentenced to probation for his role as the other driver.
