Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal Tells Reporters He’s ‘DEEPLY Concerned’ About President Biden

Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) revealed to CNN’s Manu Raju and assembled reporters that he is “deeply concerned” about President Joe Biden’s ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the coming election.

“I am deeply concerned about Joe Biden winning this November because it is an existential threat to the country if Donald Trump wins,” Blumenthal said. “So I think that we have to reach a conclusion as soon as possible. And I think Joe Biden, as the Democratic nominee, has my support.”

Blumenthal’s apparently bipolar message of support and deep concern for President Biden seems to perfectly encapsulate the disarray of the Democratic party at the moment. Many seem gravely concerned that a continued Biden candidacy will not only lose the White House but also cost Democrats the House and Senate in down-ballot elections.

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi offered a similarly confusing message Wednesday morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, warning that “time is running short” and that she would support Biden in whatever he decides to do, conveniently ignoring that he has already decided to stay in the race despite dismal poll numbers following his catastrophic debate performance which only heightened concerns of cognitive decline.
