‘No Change At The Top?’ Fox’s MacCallum Presses Corey Lewandowski On If Trump’s Campaign Managers Will Be Fired

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum asked recently added Trump campaign adviser Corey Lewandowski if the GOP nominee’s top campaign managers will be fired.

After announcing her candidacy last month, Vice President Kamala Harris has closed the lead Trump once held in the race and is now leading him in multiple key swing states. Recently, pundits have speculated that Donald Trump’s growing frustration with the race may lead to him firing his campaign managers: Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita.

Lewandowski, who was Trump’s original campaign manager back during the 2016 election, rejoined the campaign earlier this week as the race enters the final months before voters head to the ballot box.

He told the Fox anchor during a Friday afternoon interview on The Story with Martha MacCallum that Trump will not change the campaign’s leadership.

MACCALLUM: So, in 2016, in that campaign, you got moved out of your spot in the summer and were replaced by Paul Manafort and then Kellyanne Conway. In 2020, there was also a changing of the guard in the campaign. So, are you telling me that is not going to happen? Are we not going to see LaCivita and Wiles, who you just mentioned, who are running this campaign there to stay? There’s going to be no change at the top?

LEWANDOWSKI: I believe that’s to be — I believe that to be true, Martha. I absolutely do. Look, Chris and Susie are consummate professionals. They have steered a very impressive ship through here. Look at the success that they had in the primaries. Donald Trump accomplished more than any candidate ever. And here’s where we are. The Democrats are so concerned about Donald Trump that they had to switch out their candidate at this late stage right before the convention, they had to coronate, you know, the vice president states who didn’t have to go through the primary process and listen to the voters because they’re so afraid of Donald Trump. This is Donald Trump’s race to win. The American people know what his record is, and we’re going to continue to define the failure of the Biden-Harris administration and remind them what four more years would look like under these draconian policies.
