WATCH: Trump Enthusiastically Accepts Praise from UFC Fighter Who Has Repeatedly Gone Off On Homophobic Rants
Former UFC champion Sean Strickland praised Donald Trump after his UFC fight while pledging to donate money to his 2024 presidential campaign.
On Saturday night, Strickland defeated Paulo Costa in the UFC 302 co-main event via a split-decision. Strickland shouted out Trump during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, claiming that his recent conviction is a “travesty” before vowing to support him.
The camera then pans over to Trump showing him enthusiastically smiling and accepting the kind words from Strickland.
“President Trump, you’re the man, bro,” Strickland said on the microphone at the New Jersey fight arena on Saturday night. “It is a damn travesty what they are doing to you. I’ll be donating to you, my man.”
Earlier this week, Trump was convicted by a Manhattan jury on 34 counts for falsifying business records regarding hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 race.

Strickland has a history of going on homophobic rants and making politically charged statements during public press conferences and interviews.
Back in January, the former UFC champion went off on a reporter who asked him about comments he’s made in the past claiming he would disapprove of his son being gay.
Strickland interrupted the reporter and asked if he was gay and how he would feel if his son was gay. The reporter responded that he was an ally and that he would be OK with his son being gay, leading Strickland to go off on an explicit rant.
“You’re a weak fucking man, dude,” Strickland said. “You’re part of the fucking problem. You elected Justin Trudeau when he seized the bank accounts. You’re just fucking pathetic. And the fact that you have no fucking backbone as he shut down your fucking country and seized bank accounts, you asked me some stupid shit like that? Go fuck yourself. Move the fuck on, man. Fucking coward.”
