Patrick Bet-David Podcast
Fox News host Jesse Watters joined the Patrick Bet-David podcast and asked the host if a worker making $20 an hour amounts to “six figures” for the year.
During a PBD podcast that aired last week but was surfaced online on Friday, Watters promoted his aptly titled book, Get It Together.
“You’re very good at math, so see if you can do this in your head,” Watters instructed the host. “You probably can. If you’re making $20 an hour to work at a fast food restaurant, alright, is that– is that six figures? Are you making six figures?”
“No,” Bet-David said, “$40k a year.” (The exact gross pay for a full-time worker making $20 an hour is $41,600.)
“So, if your husband or wife is also there, you’re making $100,000 as a family,” Watters said, still seemingly unsure of the math. “Both working at McDonald’s.”
“Eighty grand,” a voice off camera corrected him.
“Ok, that’s crazy,” Watters replied. “That is crazy, because that job really doesn’t require much. So, it’s inflating the entire– you know, labor sector and the Happy Meal.”
