Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy argued Vice President Kamala Harris was “fishing for Republican votes” in “racing to the middle” by “flip-flopping” on key policy issues.
The team were analyzing Harris’s first interview since becoming Democratic nominee, CNN anchor Dana Bash questioned Harris on her evolving policies throughout her career, particularly on clean energy and fracking.
After showing a graphic outlining policy points the team believed she’d switched stance on, Doocy offered his take that Harris was seeking to appeal to the center, particularly in her announcement that she would have a Republican in her cabinet if she wins the 2024 presidential election, joking that this would make it clear that “she hasn’t changed” and is “not a flip-flopper.”
To my point about how [Harris] is now racing to the middle, she has abandoned that ‘we’re not going to do fracking anymore’ business because you have to be in the middle to win, to get the independents to win. The other thing is she was fishing around for Republican votes because at one point Dana Bash asked ‘would you put a Republican in your cabin?’; she said absolutely yes she would. Which goes back to the days when [former President] Barack Obama had Norman Mineta in his cabinet and also [former President] George W. Bush did, Donald Trump and Barack Obama. Actually Obama did, Joe Biden didn’t. So, have a Republican in her cabinet if she wins and
she hasn’t changed, she is not a flip flopper.
“Kamala Harris 2.0,” added co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy.
