Mysterious Gap in DNC Schedule Prompts Flurry of Speculation About Celebrity Appearance

As Vice President Kamala Harris prepares to give her DNC speech on Thursday night, rumors are circulating of a surprise celebrity appearance at the convention.

According to CNN’s Jamie Gangel, a source familiar with the DNC convention schedule revealed that Beyoncé may perform on Thursday evening during a gap in the schedule. The source told Gangel multiple times that the plan to have the Grammy award-winning singer perform may fall through.

“This comes from a source very familiar with the convention schedule,” Gangel told CNN anchor Brianna Keilar as she begins reading a text conversation with the source. “She’s coming. She’s not coming. She’s coming. I don’t think she’s coming. Wait, it may happen. Two minutes later, It may not happen. So we don’t know. We really, really don’t know.”

Harris’s campaign has had conversations with Beyoncé’s team as they gave them permission to use her song “Freedom” earlier this year. Moreover, the song also played on Monday evening when Harris walked out on stage at the Chicago convention.

Rumors of a possible appearance of the star led to a flurry of online excitement, with some hoping Taylor Swift appears.
