Trump Ratchets Up Attacks on Fox News: ‘STOP PUTTING ON THE ENEMY!’

Former President Donald Trump ratcheted up his attacks on Fox News Monday morning, demanding they “STOP PUTTING ON THE ENEMY!” in a Truth Social message posted early Monday morning.

The message went up at 7:24 am, and it’s unclear what particular Fox News segment raised his ire. The 7 AM hour of Fox & Friends, long considered one of Trump’s favorite cable news programs, featured no Democratic guests but did feature a clip of CNN’s David Axelrod encouraging President Joe Biden to drop out, as well as a montage of Vice President Kamala Harris speaking, though in a manner aimed to ridicule her sometimes elliptical way of speaking.

This was the third such attack on Fox News since the weekend began, with Trump rhetorically asking in a Sunday morning Truth Social post, “Why does FoxNews keep putting all of these warped Biden Apologists on, one after another, like failed former Congressman Patrick Murphy?”

Saturday afternoon saw Trump attacking Wall Street Journal’s John Bussey, calling him a “real loser who loves to hear himself talk,” and also telling the cable news network to “Get rid of him!”

FoxNews puts on the WORST people, and all done very purposely. John Bussey, a Wall Street Journal Associate Editor, is a real loser who loves to hear himself talk. When he discusses me, he refuses to say, even though he knows it to be true, that everything I got accused of is a Biden inspired HOAX for purposes of Election Interference. He plays right into their web of deceit and deception by not explaining this. Is he a Democrat, or a really dumb Republican? Hard to believe I’m winning by so much with jerks like this stinking up the airwaves. Get rid of him, FoxNews! DJT

It’s not new for Trump to attack Fox News, as he has long taken the strategy of preemptively complaining about something to get a more favorable outcome. Any objective viewer of Fox’s top-rated opinion programming immediately understands that its opinion hosts are entirely conservative and pro-Trump.
Fox News has, perhaps wisely, avoided commenting or lashing back at the former president, perhaps a calculated move designed to appease a large and loyal set of viewers who might leave the network if they were to see reports that aren’t in any way fawning of the former president.
