Elon Musk said he’s spoken with Donald Trump about creating a “government efficiency commission” that he would potentially be part of.

Musk joined the Lex Fridman Podcast for a massive episode that totaled more than eight hours, which included an interview with Musk mainly focused on Neuralink and artificial intelligence. Lex Fridman also interviewed Matthew MacDougall, the head neurosurgeon with Neuralink, and Noland Arbaugh, the first person to have a Neuralink device implanted in his brain.

At one point the conversation turned to politics and Musk’s endorsement of Trump as president. Musk tweeted on the day of the attempted assassination of Trump that he “fulled endorses” the Republican for president. Recent reports have also highlighted the data collecting and other efforts being taken by a Super PAC co-founded by Musk.

Musk said Trump should “courage under fire” after he was shot on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania.

“You can’t feign bravery in a situation like that,” he said.

The Twitter owner went on to cite issues like the southern border and economy as things he trusts Trump on more. Musk argued debt is the biggest issue for the United States, noting that interest on the country’s debt is currently set to outpace the Department of Defense budget.

Musk aslo revealed that he’s spoken to Trump about creating a commission he’d be interested in being part of.

“I wish you could go into Washington for a week and be the head of the committee for making government smaller,” Fridman said.

“I have discussed with Trump the idea of a government efficiency commission. And I would be willing to be part of that commission,” Musk then revealed.

Watch starting at around 1:16 in the clip.

“I wonder how hard that is,” Fridman said after Musk brought up the idea.

“The antibody reaction would be very strong,” said Musk. “You’re attacking the Matrix at that point.”

“The Matrix will fight back,” he warned.
