Elon Musk gave Donald Trump his full endorsement on Saturday following an attack on the former president at a rally in Pennsylvania.
“I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,” wrote the Tesla billionaire and controversial owner of X.
Trump’s rally was abruptly stopped as what sounded like gunshots rang out and Trump could be seen swatting at his ear before going to the ground and being rushed off stage by Secret Service.

A Secret Service spokesman quickly took to X and wrote, “An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.”
Musk followed up his endorsement by saying, “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.” In 1912, Roosevelt was famously shot in the chest while giving a speech, but the bullet was obstructed by his folded-over speech in his breast pocket and the president finished his lengthy remarks.

Bloomberg reported on Friday that Musk donated to America PAC, a “low-profile” PAC working to reelect Trump in November. Musk had previously claimed he was not supporting either candidate in the race.
