‘Kissed Trump’s Ass!’ Bill Maher Confronts Kevin McCarthy To His Face Over Capitol Riot Flip
Comic and political pundit Bill Maher confronted former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy for going to Mar-a-Lago to “kiss” former President Donald Trump’s “ass”after the Capitol riot.
Trump and his allies have been mounting an attack designed to explain away President Biden’s strong performance if he beats Trump at next week’s debate — claiming he must be doing drugs. At a speech this week, Trump got specific and accused Biden of doing cocaine.
On Friday night’s edition of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the comic’s panel guests were Bakari Sellers and Ben Shapiro and the interview guest was McCarthy.
Things got feisty during the interview when Maher yelled at McCarthy over Trump’s election lies, then mocked him for flip-floppig over the riot:
KEVIN MCCARTHY: But Donald Trump never prosecuted his political opponents.
BILL MAHER: Well.
KEVIN MCCARTHY: Did he ever indict any of them?
BILL MAHER: He himself was indicted. That’s the point.
(CROSSTALK)
KEVIN MCCARTHY: He was indicted on something other Americans have never been indicted for.
BILL MAHER: That’s kitchen table it the people who don’t get inside baseball like that, He has not conceded the last election. Did he win or lose?
KEVIN MCCARTHY: Did Hillary Clinton ever concede her–
BILL MAHER: Yes she did! She came out and before the cock crowed!
KEVIN MCCARTHY: You know–.
BILL MAHER: She was out conceding the election! Why are you denying this obvious fact?
(CROSSTALK)
KEVIN MCCARTHY: Democrats challenge the presidential election in Congress in 2000, 2004, 2016.
BILL MAHER: Challenging is not the same as not conceding! Hillary Clinton conceded the election. You guys like to conflate this with people who say the Democrats have said Donald Trump is not a legitimate president.
Yeah, maybe that’s kind of cool thing to say. It’s different than actually not conceding the election and saying–.
Did he did he win that election? Biden?
KEVIN MCCARTHY: Yes. I was saying from the beginning, I don’t have no qualms with that.
BILL MAHER: And you actually told that to Trump.
KEVIN MCCARTHY: Yes.
BILL MAHER: And then you switched.
KEVIN MCCARTHY: No I didn’tswitch!
BILL MAHER: You went down to Mar-A-Lago and kissed his ass after that!
KEVIN MCCARTHY: Oh bullshit!

KEVIN MCCARTHY: I have no qualms going to see Donald Trump. He’s my friend. I served with him just like I do. Anybody else. Go down and have a conversation with him.
