Sen. Ron Johnson Claims Palestinian Children Are ‘Indoctrinated To Hate’ And Must Be ‘Bottled Up’ in Gaza

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) claimed on Fox News that Palestinian children are “indoctrinated to hate” and must be “bottled up” in Gaza, not granted asylum in the U.S.

Johnson spoke with host Kayleigh McEnany, who was filling in for Sean Hannity on Friday night.

The Wisconsin Senator was one of 34 Senate Republicans who denounced President Joe Biden’s potential plan to help Palestinians already in the U.S. bring families over as refugees, calling the suggestion a “national security risk.”

On Fox News, Johnson referred to the pro-Palestinian protests on U.S. college campuses, saying, “Kayleigh, there’s a reason that the Arab nations have not accepted Palestinian refugees for decades. Had they done that, we wouldn’t have this problem today.” He continued:

But they don’t do it because, it’s awful the way young children in Palestine are indoctrinated to hate not only Jews, but all infidels. And, so, they’re dangerous people. And, so, they try and keep them bottled up in Gaza and the West Bank, and, so, this continues to spill over into these horrific incidences. But we need to keep it bottled up. We need to let Israel destroy Hamas and then try and live in peace with Palestinians who are willing to do so.

Earlier in the interview, Johnson said the U.S. southern border was already letting in “military-age men from countries that are adversarial to America.”

“Why would you add to that clear and present danger by bringing in Palestinians, who, let’s face it, they view us as infidels. They not only hate Jews, they hate us,” Johnson said.

In a letter sent to the White House this week, the 34 senators wrote, “We demand that your administration cease planning for accepting Gazan refugees until you adequately answer our concerns and focus your attention instead on securing the release of U.S. hostages held by Hamas.”
