Vice President Kamala Harris received permission to use the Beyonce song Freedom, CNN first reported on Tuesday.

Elizabeth Wagmeister cited a source close to the campaign in reporting that Harris’s team got specific permission to use the song. Harris reportedly walked out to the 2016 song on Monday night at her campaign headquarters.

Beyonce is has supported a number of Democratic candidates in the past, but she has not made an official endorsement in the 2024 presidential election. Harris has yet to become the party’s official nominee, but she’s already secured enough delegates to take the top spot on the ticket following President Joe Biden stepping away from the campaign.

Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles, did officially endorse Harris on Sunday, posting a photo of herself and the vice president.

“Putting personal Ego , power and fame aside . That is the definition of a great leader, . Thank you, President Biden for your service and your leadership . Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President. Let’s Go,” she wrote.
