Did You Ever Think The View Would Promote a Daily Wire Movie? Today They Did

You may want to look out the window and double check that pigs are not flying because there happens to be a topic on which The View and conservative outlet The Daily Wire are in complete agreement.

Black Panther actress Letitia Wright joined The View on Wednesday to promote a film she has executive produced titled Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, which covers the true story of Texas churchgoers who adopt dozens of children caught up in the foster care system.

The film will be released on July 4 and one of the companies behind its release is none other than Daily Wire, the conservative outlet founded by Ben Shapiro and Jeremy Boreing. The company has recently turned to film production and distribution, releasing movies like Shut In and Lady Ballers.

Daily Wire and Angel Studios announced earlier this month they had reached a deal to release Sound of Hope, which is from the production company Peacetree Productions.

Jeff Harmon, the chief content officer for Angel Studios, said in a statement at the time that “Angel fans” had often requested a partnership with Daily Wire. Angel Studios recently made waves with the release of their film Sound of Freedom, which focused on international sex trafficking. The $15 million film brought in more than $250 million worldwide. Angel Studios allows fans to “pay forward” tickets to gift them to other customers, as well as directly invest in some of their projects.

There was no mention of Shapiro’s Daily Wire on Wednesday while Wright promoted the film, but Whoopi Goldberg noted the movie comes from the company behind the faith series The Chosen, referring to Angel Studios, in a bid to get people to see the picture.

Wright said she chose to get involved as an executive producer with Sound of Hope after reading an article about the real families after launching her company 316 Productions. She was involved with the project before Daily Wire.

“I saw this article in 2021 when I started my company, and I was just moved by this family and Possum Trot who — they didn’t wait for anyone to tell them what to do or to help them. They just saw a need in their community and they just provided that help. I was so inspired by them,” she said.

Daily Wire’s Boreing previously said he wanted to get involved with the film after the story affected him personally as the father of an adopted child.

“Speaking as the father of an adopted daughter myself, Sound of Hope is truly inspirational,” he said. “We know it will resonate deeply with our audience – and far beyond – and has the power to make a true cultural impact for kids and families in crisis. We want millions to see this film.”
