Painfully Cringe ‘Anti-Woke’ Cartoon Starring Dave Rubin and Featuring Elon Musk Deemed ‘One of the Worst Things’ Ever Made

The pilot for a new “anti-woke” cartoon featuring Dave Rubin and Elon Musk was ridiculed by social media users on Tuesday, who described the show as “one of the worst things” ever made.
In the pilot for The New Norm Show – which boasts voice acting from Rubin and former Republican presidential candidate Larry Elder – the titular anti-woke character could be seen complaining about a rainbow flag beer can and ranting about the school system “brainwashing” his daughter, before introducing the audience to his conservative Black friend.

The pilot also featured caricatures of U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, former Biden official Sam Brinton, and a non-binary person, before concluding with an unvoiced, animated appearance from Musk.
The New Norm Show received mixed reactions on social media and was ridiculed by conservatives and liberals alike.
“Tv shows on leftism: the cringiest, most unwatchable, nauseating trash ever created… tv shows on conservatism: somehow even worse,” reacted The Blaze’s Logan Hall, while journalist Zaid Jilani argued, “These boomer RW shows are all cringe because they don’t do anything actually subversive.”

These boomer RW shows are all cringe because they don’t do anything actually subversive, they just tickle their audience. There is good right wing comedy in the webcomic and podcast space, it tends to be a lot more irreverent and offensive though. https://t.co/h7wPKx9rqa

Many social media users compared the show unfavorably to the Daily Wire’s own anti-woke cartoon, Mr. Birchum, which also received a heavy amount of ridicule following its release this year.
Mr Birchum was by far the least enjoyable, most grating thing I’ve ever watched for the show but this actually seems worse. this makes me ache for the subtlety and complex joke writing in Mr Birchum https://t.co/eDG4gGeDUU

To even understand what the jokes are supposed to be in here you have to have conservative boomer internet poisoning. Like, “the computer has actively hurt your mind” kind of stuff. Also love the song for Elon Musk at the end. This is definitely not a grift! https://t.co/Y5VhX9xYvp

Good job triggering all these libtards in the replies

“South Park had edge. This has as much edge as uncooked sourdough,” reacted conservative cartoonist George Alexopoulos. “Between this and Daily Wire’s limp cartoon, they may as well be flushing money down the toilet.”

I’m reluctant to subject anybody else to this, but I’m actually in awe of how untalented Dave Rubin is. https://t.co/C3uxKRQCzm

why does every conservative cartoon feel like a parody of conservative cartoons https://t.co/1dgPtTS1Vk

One social media user, who received nearly 500 likes, called the pilot “one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in my life,” while another social media user, who received 1,000 likes, described the show as “a ham-fisted mishmash of pop conservative talking points rolled into a flash animation from 2003.”
The show did receive some praise, however.
Bill Maher described the show as “brilliant!” according to The New Norm’s official website.
The New Norm was also praised by Rubin and Elder, two stars of the show, who called it “beautiful” and “relevant, timely, and funny.”
