Jasmine Crockett Says Her Pastor Called But Wasn’t Upset After Marjorie Taylor Greene ‘Butch Body’ Fight: ‘He’s About This Life’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) told Jimmy Kimmel she received a call from her pastor after her wild fight in the House with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) but it wasn’t the call one would typically expect from their pastor after accusing someone publicly of having a “bleach blonde, bad-built butch body.”

At a May hearing focused on whether to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress, Crockett at one point accused Greene of going off topic to which the Georgia congresswoman accused Crockett of having reading trouble because of her “fake eyelashes.” Things quickly descended into chaos and Crockett eventually threw out her “bleach blonde, bad-built butch body” line.

Crockett joined Kimmel on Thursday and revealed she’d actually written the insult down and had it ready after Greene first attacked her. As the two clashed in the hearing, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) jumped in to condemn Greene’s insult. Crockett has also since claimed Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) was ready to get into an actual “fight” with Greene.

“We’re supposed to be talking about AG Merrick Garland, and she starts talking about Judge [Juan] Merchan. So now I’m upset because it’s already late at night, I’ve been here all day, ready to work, and she’s still talking about that failed trial. So I had to ask her if she understood, because she’s not the brightest,” Crockett recalled about the fight.

The hearing had originally been scheduled to take place hours earlier.

Crockett revealed the first person she heard from following the fight was her pastor.

“Was he upset with you?” Kimmel asked.

“He wasn’t. You’d have to know my pastor to know that he’s about this life,” Crockett said.

All her pastor wanted, said Crockett, was ask her to warn him the next time she drops a line like the “butch body” insult hurled at Greene so he doesn’t drink anything and spit it out from laughter.

Crockett said she’s seen Greene since the fight, but they don’t talk. She claimed though that some Republicans have shown subtle support.

“I saw a couple of Republican women that were like, wink, wink… and then I’ve had some Republican men walk up to me and say, ‘I love your eyelashes,'” she said.
