Fox Business Guest: Media ‘Trying to Sell’ Kamala Harris as ‘Obama In A Skirt’
Fox Business guest Monica Crowley claimed that the “imperial media” are “trying to sell” Vice President Kamala Harris as Barack “Obama in a skirt.”
During an interview on Wednesday morning hosted by Maria Bartiromo and with Caroline Sunshine, the Trump campaign’s deputy director of communications, Crowley claimed the “imperial media” is trying to promote the “most unpopular vice president” in recent American history.
She asked Sunshine what Donald Trump’s messaging will be to counter Harris’ rising popularity. Recent polls have shown a tight race between the former president and Harris in several key battleground states, including Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada.
Sunshine responded that Harris is receiving the “Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama treatment from the liberal mainstream media.”
CROWLEY: Let’s talk a little bit about how the imperial media has taken Kamala Harris, historically the most unpopular vice president in recent American in history, to being the belle of the ball in the space of about one week. They are trying to sell her as Obama in a skirt, basically trying to create momentum around Kamala Harris based on identity politics, the fact she’s a woman of color and would be the first woman of color president. How is the Trump campaign planning to counter that kind of messaging?
SUNSHINE: Absolutely. Well, we’re watching, as you just said, Hillary. We’re watching Kamala Harris get the Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama treatment from the liberal mainstream media and the Democrat Party. The problem is, is that the liberal mainstream media and Democrat Party have the same blinders on that they had up way back in 2016. It’s almost the exact same playbook. Kamala Harris, as policies couldn’t be more out of touch with where the average American is at. You think people in Pennsylvania want to have an all out ban on fracking? Absolutely not. So President Trump continues to go up in these polls, up in the battleground states, because while the Democrats might be trying to change the nominee at the top of that ticket through selection versus election, as I said, you can’t change what the issues are. The issues most important to the American people are the economy, inflation, immigration. President Trump’s on the right side of all of those issues.
