Mediaite is seeking an ambitious and energetic senior editor to help lead our coverage of politics, media, entertainment, sports and everything in between. This editor will need to have the keen editorial judgment to understand what makes a Mediaite story. They will need to be just as comfortable editing a feature-length investigation on the media industry as they are handling breaking news at breakneck speed.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated journalist with experience editing and writing. They will bring a strong sense of news and leadership to our coverage of the 2024 election and beyond.<\/p>\n

Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2013 Experience editing news in a fast-paced environment.<\/p>\n \u2013 A strong grasp of what Mediaite does and what our audience is interested in.<\/p>\n \u2013 An in-depth knowledge of the world of news, politics and media, including online personalities, major cable and broadcast networks, leading columnists, and general thought-leaders.<\/p>\n \u2013 Ability to find issues bubbling up in the conservative or liberal media world before they have been widely reported\u200b.<\/p>\n \u2013 Strong news judgment and an eye for underreported content and ideas. Can you find the nugget of interest that no one else has focused on?<\/p>\n \u2013 Ability to handle a high-volume of news stories \u2014 from breaking news to opinion pieces \u2014 moving quickly and decisively while maintaining high editorial standards.<\/p>\n \u2014 Ability to manage the site in a fast-paced, clear-eyed, even-handed manner. Can you handle six things at once? Can you make sound editorial decisions in the blink of an eye?<\/p>\n
