Trump Predictably Lashes Out at CNN and Dana Bash Over Harris Interview

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at CNN’s Dana Bash a day after she sat down with Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz in a joint interview – Harris’s first since she became her party’s nominee.

Harris and the Democratic Minnesota governor spoke to Bash Thursday for a conversation that people closely following the 2024 election had waited eagerly for. Prior to the interview, Harris had been accused of dodging reporters.

During a Friday evening rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Trump attacked Harris and renewed his “Tampon Tim” attack line against Walz. But the former president saved scorn for Bash, whom he called “nasty” and biased against Republicans:

What they’ve done to our country is incredible. What is Kamala who’s a total lightweight? did you see her on television last night? this is going to be the president? This is going to be the president of our country? I don’t think so. Sitting propped up in a desk with this guy, this Tampon Tim. Tampon. And it’s the first interview she’s done in, like, nobody’s ever seen anything like it, and if you’re too weak to do a one-on-one interview with a person that was so soft.

You know, I know Dana. She’s always, you know, always nasty. She was so nice to the Democrats. It’s much easier to be a Democrat, but we don’t agree on their policies because their policies will destroy our nation. So we can’t do that. We can’t do that. but it was a very weak interview from the standpoint of CNN. I think CNN should be ashamed of themselves. I think CNN should be ashamed of themselves.

Trump concluded if he had sat down with Bash instead of Harris and Walz, he would have been put under the microscope for pushing for extreme measures to end the country’s drug epidemic.

Even though Trump complained about CNN Friday, he praised Bash and network anchor Jake Tapper for being fair to him during his lone debate against President Joe Biden on June 27.

“Very professional, both of them,” Trump said the following day at a rally in Virginia. “Jake and Dana, they treated us very fairly. They abused me for years, but last night– right? What happened? They treated me very fairly. I think it’s great. I think it was great for them. It was great for CNN. But I thought they were very fair.”
