Chris Cuomo Hits Back At Megyn Kelly For Calling CNN’s Kaitlan Collins ‘Cold-Hearted B**ch’

Chris Cuomo blasted Megyn Kelly over her advice that CNN’s Kaitlan Collins “try smiling” more to come off as less of a “cold-hearted bitch” on air.

Cuomo joined The PBD Podcast on Thursday where he chalked up Kelly’s “currency” to being “acidic” and “provocative,” two things he argued most feel are necessary to get their commentaries noticed and talked about. He also accused Kelly of failing herself at the “network level” and offering advice she wasn’t able to take herself.

“There’s a little bit of irony that she’s giving Collins advice that she couldn’t follow herself which was one of the reasons she failed at the network level,” he said.

Kelly worked at Fox News for more than 10 years until 2017. She then moved to NBC News, where she was hired to host her own daytime program. She was ousted by the network and has since gone independent, hosting the popular program The Megyn Kelly Show on YouTube and SiriusXM.

Collins came under fire from Kelly over a recent moment with Stephen Colbert where she was surprised to see the studio audience laugh after her network was called “objective.”

“You say that about any outlet right now, you’re going to get reverb,” Cuomo said about the moment.

The NewsNation host — who previously worked for CNN before, as Cuomo describes it, he was “shit-canned,” making room for Collins to move up — argued Kelly’s “advice” was all showmanship.

“If she gave her real advice that was coming from a good place, nobody would care. I call them ‘attactics.’ The tactics are ‘attactics.’ You’ve got to be attacking. You’ve got to be negative. You’ve got to be nasty, and I don’t mean nasty in some sort of misogynistic way. It’s men and women who do the same stuff,” he said.

Cuomo laughed off the idea that Kelly was the “warm,” but decisive reporter she was telling Collins to be. He called the former Fox News host “smart,” but “nasty.”

“Megyn Kelly has made a decision, which is: the reason I can get people following me is because I’m going to say really obnoxious stuff about people and situations that matter, but, again, does anybody believe that’s Megyn Kelly’s secret sauce?” he said. “That she knows how to be warm and can drop the hammer when she needs to. I just think she’s given advice that she didn’t follow.”
