Democratic strategist James Carville laid into Ann Coulter and others for mocking Democratic Party vice presidential nominee Tim Walz’s teenage son.

During an appearance on the Politicon podcast, Carville called out Coulter for kicking off criticism of 17-year-old Gus Walz at the Democratic National Convention after she commented in a since-deleted tweet, “talk about weird,” after Gus Walz — who has a learning disorder — was filmed crying while his father spoke at the DNC.

Carville took particular issue with Jay Weber, a conservative radio host in Wisconsin.

“Sorry, but this is embarrassing for both father and son,” Weber wrote on X. “If the Walzs [sic] represent today’s American man, this country is screwed; ‘Meet my son, Gus. He’s a blubbering b**** boy. His mother and I are very proud.”

Weber later apoligized and said he was unaware Tim Walz’s 17-year-old son had a learning disability.

“This is a fuller apology for something stupid and hurtful I said yesterday. I said it without thinking or having the facts. No excuses,” he wrote. “Having been a teacher, I’ve had a standard of never involving children, I broke that and I’m disappointed with myself. I apologize to the Walz family and anyone who was offended. I feel horrible, I am so sorry.”

Carville dismissed this, noting Weber had also targeted former President Barack Obama’s daughter in the past.

“It started with Ann Coulter. They started mocking him. Then there’s this guy, this subhuman is all I can think to call him by the name of Jay Weber who is a talk show guy in Milwaukee,” Carville said.

He asked whether people mocking Gus Walz have any “human emotion.”

“This guy Weber, I’d like for him to answer just a question — do you have human emotions? I mean, I know you sit there and run your fat fucking mouth all the time on Wisconsin radio. What is it about these teenagers or young people that you want to continually mock?” Carville said.
